Ghana will cross swords with Mexico in a highly-rated international friendly on Sunday, October 15, at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
The Black Stars will use this fixture to test themselves as they prepare for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers which commences next month and the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for early next year.
The four-time African champions in the last international window, recorded victories in all two matches played but saw no any significant rise on the last FIFA rankings released.
Goals from Right to Dream duo Kudus Mohammed and Ernest Nuamah propelled the Stars to come from behind to beat Central African Republic 2-1 in Kumasi to book a spot at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and topped up with another 3-1 win over Liberia in a friendly.
On the opposition end, The Tricolors haven't been really bad in their previous games and are currently unbeaten in their last five matches, having won three and drawn two.
The twelve-time North American conquerors last month drew 3-3 against less-fancied Uzbekistan before playing another 2-2 stalemate with Australia, all friendly encouters.
HEAD TO HEAD
Both Ghana and Mexico have met on three occasions but are yet to face off in a major competition with Mexico winning all matches with none ending in a draw.
The last meeting was in 2017 at the NRG Stadium where the Mexicans nipped on Elías Hernández's first penalty to win the game narrowly.
