Due to the poor start of the season for capital based team Union Berlin, former coach Urs Fischer was dismissed during the international break and was replaced by Marco Grote who would be assisted by record making Marie-Louise Eta.

The duo will kick start their lives at Union Berlin against an in form Augsburg side who are yet to taste a defeat in four consecutive matches. Union Berlin out of eleven games have won twice and lost the nine consecutive matches in the league going into the international break and at the moment are joint 17th on the league standings.

Marie-Louise in the dugout is not unusual to her as she went into coaching where she was at the helm in 2019 with the Germany U19, 2021 with the U15 side and 2022 with the U17 team. She was the assistant coach for the Union Berlin U19 in 2023 and she is obliged to be the assistant coach to Marco Grote making her create history in German football.

Union Berlin have tough games coming their way in the league and the Champions League as well. In the league they face Augsburg tomorrow, Bayern Munich, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bockum and Cologne [Köln] in the league fixtures to end the year. They also in the Champions League face Braga next and round up the year in the Champions League with Real Madrid.

The Union Berlin fans and executives would hope that the appointment of Marie-Louise Eta and Marco Grote would reminiscent and bring back their past season form.
