Chris Wilder is an English professional football coach who recently managed Championship club Watford and a former player. After Sheffield United's poor run in the Premier League, the call for Chris Wilder rings for his redemption at the club.
Sheffield United this season are struggling after they were promoted into the league. United at the moment rock bottom on the league standings in the 20th position with the fragile defense in the league as well as unprolific attack. They have conceded 39 goals already scoring just 11 totaling a goal difference of -28 so far.
In their latest match against fellow promoted strugglers Burnley, United got wallop by five goals to nothing which secured Burnley their first win of the season.
United after 13 match days have won once, drawn twice and lost on eleven different counts so far. Paul Heckingbottom who took charge of United have lost his job to Chris Wilder.
Chris Wilder managed United in 2016 but left in 2021 due to disagreement between management and him. United was the fifth club he took charge of since he started his managerial career. In his time at United he promoted the club from League One to the Premier League in the space of just three years; wining the League One trophy and placed runner up in the Championship.
In his time at Sheffield United ,he won the EFL League One Manager of the season 2018/19, League Managers' Association League One and Championship Manager of the year.
He played as a Right Back for Sheffield United from 1986-1992. He also joined The Blades in the 1998/99 season.
Chris Wilder has really massive work load waiting for him if he gets the job. He will face Liverpool, Brentford, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Luton Town and Manchester City in the Premier League.
Sheffield United's hierarchy and fans will hope this new direction can reminiscent their time with Chris Wilder.
