Head coach of the United States men's national team (USMNT), Gregg Berhalter has stated that their upcoming international friendly against Ghana is an 'important building block' ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Berhalter will lead the Yanks as they neck-it-down with the West African football powerhouse on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
Speaking after naming his 23-man USMNT squad for the upcoming friendlies against Germany and Ghana, the 50-year-old said he selected a strong team to continue what he has already started.
“In line with our long-term strategic approach towards 2026, we have a great opportunity to play against two world-class opponents and continue to progress our group of players,” Berhalter said.
“We are focused on selecting strong rosters and maintaining continuity as much as possible, and this is another important building block," he added.
