Head coach of Black Satellites, Desmond Offei has disclosed his boys are ever ready and poised as they kickstart their African Games campaign this mid-afternoon against the Republic of Congo.
The four-time African champions have been camping for months now at the 'Ghanaman' Soccer Center of Excellence and have engaged in serious preparations within this period as they hope for nothing but to achieve the 'host and win.'
The men's football in the ongoing African Games started yesterday where Uganda and Senegal picked wins over Nigeria and South Sudan respectively in the opening games in Group B.
Group A will also commence today with Ghana crossing swords with Congo and Gambia clashing with Benin later tonight, all in Accra.
Ahead of Ghana's game, coach Desmond Offei has set sights on nothing but a very good start as he aims at a win and is very optimistic his lads are ready to serve and deliver very well by the close of the day.
"There’s no pressure. We are fully prepared and we really have a good squad and the boys are ready and hungry so we don’t feel any pressure," he said at the pre-match presser.
"Our motivation is that we are the host country and that’s enough motivation for us. Secondly, we are Ghana, we are very hungry and ready to deliver. We just have to showcase our abilities and represent the country as best as we can," he added.
The game is slated for 15:00GMT (3:00pm) at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
