The first batch of the Sudanese national team has arrived in Ghana as they prepare for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The technical team, led by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, touched down in the West African nation on Sunday night.

The remainder of the Sudanese squad is expected to arrive from Saudi Arabia later today, under the leadership of national team manager Mr. Abubakar Al-Mahy.

Sudan kicked off their AFCON campaign with a victory over Niger but faced a setback with a 2-1 defeat against Angola, leaving them in second place in their group with three points.

Kwesi Appiah is focused on leading his team to an upset against Ghana, which could significantly boost their chances of qualification.

Sudan will conduct their final training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening in preparation for the first leg of the qualifier, scheduled for Thursday at the same venue, with kickoff set for 16:00 GMT. The return leg will take place on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
