The Black Damsels, the female national U15 team of Ghana, started their 2025 CAF African Schools Champions debut campaign with a 1-0 win over Morocco on Wednesday.
Coach Joyce Boatey-Agyei's side triumphed over the North African country narrowly in the Group A opener at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
Budding talented forward Jennifer Awuku scored the decisive goal in the second half to hand Ghana a perfect start to the tournament, which features 40-minute matches – 20 minutes per half.
Ghana will next face Benin at 12:00 pm on Thursday before concluding their group stage campaign against Malawi at 4:00 pm the same day.
The 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship is being staged in Accra from April 23 to 26, 2025.
Earlier, the Ghana U15 Boys team also stunned Uganda 2-0, courtesy of a brace from John Andor.
