Former Ghana international, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is optimistic Jerry Afriyie will steer Black Satellites to a win against Egypt.

The Black Satellites will muscle it up with Egypt in the quarter-final in the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations today, May 12.

Both Ghana and Egypt are in pursuit of a win in the quarter-final of the continental tournament to secure qualification to the FIFA U20 World Cup.

However, according to Agyemang Badu - a U20 World Cup winner will dish out good performance and score against the Young Pharaoh.

"He [Afriyie] is our talisman," Agyemang-Badu told 3Sports.

"He has the experience [having] played for the Black Stars, so when he goes there [Black Satellites], you see he is a different player.

"It is very good to have some players like this in your team and we thank the FA, his club [CD Lugo] for allowing us to come and help us. He will score for us and we are going to qualify."

The crunch decider against Egypt will kickoff at 15:00 GMT, as Ghana aim to qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup which will be held in Chile on 27 September – 19 October.
