Ghana head coach Otto Addo has praised midfielder Mohammed Kudus for his impressive form ahead of the Black Stars decisive 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR).
The Black Stars are set for two vital games that will determine their path to next year’s tournament in North America, with clashes against CAR and Comoros to conclude their qualifying campaign.
Kudus has been in fine form since his summer switch to Tottenham Hotspur, recently finding the net and providing an assist in Spurs 2-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road, taking his tally to five goal contributions in seven Premier League appearances.
"Surely, if somebody scores, I'm happy for everybody who scores. But he did well. He created a lot of chances for Tottenham. He had some assists as well," Addo said during Ghana’s pre-match press conference in Meknes.
Addo’s confidence in the 25-year-old reflects the optimism within the Ghana camp, as the Black Stars aim to avoid any slip-ups in Wednesday’s crucial tie. A victory would strengthen their push for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana will wrap up their qualifying campaign on Sunday, October 8, when they host Comoros in what could prove a decisive finale to their World Cup bid.
