Senegal hugely talented forward Lamine Camara has been named the Men's Young Player of the Year at the 2023 CAF Awards by the continent's football governing body.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was rewarded for his stellar performance at the recently ended Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

His scintillating performance for the male national U20 team of Senegal aided them to clinch their first-ever title and he was named the best player of the tournament.

Camara has been tipped as one of the next big thing in European football following his exploits at the French Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz. He has been a consistent figure in the Metz's first team since his promotion from the club's youth side.

His exceptional talent has earned him a place in the senior national team of Senegal at age 19 and made his debut later this year.
