Nigeria and SSC Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has been adjudged African footballer of the year in the 2023 CAF Awards.
The event, as usual, was a colourful one and was held at the Palais des Congres Movenpick in Marrakech, Morocco.
Osimhen, emerges as winner of this prestigious award for the first time, having won over Egypt's Mohammed Salah and Achraf Hakimi from Morocco.
The 24-year-old was fantastic last season and played an instrumental role in helping SSC Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in over 30 years.
He netted 31 goals in solid 39 appearances in all competitions and currently has six goals and an assist in the ongoing season.
In the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, he played a vital role in helping the Nigerian Super Eagles secure qualification and netted ten goals to finish as the top scorer.
