South African top-flight league side Amazulu FC has reached agreement to secure the signature of Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori on a free transfer, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.

Ofori, who has been unattached since the end of the 2023–24 season after being released by Orlando Pirates, is joining Usuthu lads on a free transfer after a fruitful negotiations.

Amazulu FC have blostered their goalkeeping department with the acquisition of the former Black Stars shot-stopper, who has rich experience in the South African Premier League having featured for Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates.

He is expected to compete with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Veli Mothwa and Olwethu Mzimela as well as Andile Mbajwa at Amazulu FC in the 2024–25 season's campaign.

During his stay at Orlando Pirates, the 30-year-old goalkeeper made 58 appearances for the club and also helped them to clinch three MTN8 trophies and won the Nedbank Cup on two occasions.

Ofori is expected to arrive in Durban in the coming hours to undergo a mandatory medical examination to complete his switch to Amazulu FC.

His last appearance for the senior national team of Ghana was against Mozambique at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast which the Black Stars suffered a group stage elimination.
