Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy has joined forces with global music icon Shakira for the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song titled “Dai Dai.”
The global showpiece anthem, which will be released on May 14, has already created huge excitement after Shakira shared short previews of the track on social media ahead of its official launch.
Shakira is no stranger to the World Cup stage. She famously delivered hit tournament songs including “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup and “La La La” during the 2014 edition in Brazil.
For Burna Boy, the collaboration marks another major moment in the global growth of Afrobeats, as he brings his sound to football’s biggest event.
Fans are already expecting a strong mix of Afrobeat energy and Latin pop rhythm, with many hoping “Dai Dai” will have a similar global impact to “Waka Waka.”
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
