Dreams FC failed to hold onto their lead after being held by Guinean side Milo FC de Kankan in the first leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup at the Stade General Lansana Conte.
Coach Karim Zito named a strong line up for their first ever CAF inter-club competition campaign and comprised of skipper Abdul Jalilu, Gael Aholou, Simba Sylvester, Ishmael Dede, veteran John Antwi and others.
The 'Still Believe' started very poor and struggled to swing or put passes together due to the poor state of the pitch, and this gave the host the urge to make some early incursions but no any on target effort in the opening minutes.
The opening seven minutes was somehow hectic as the visitors recorded two injuries with John Antwi and Aholou being the victims but wasn't anything serious as they both rose back on their feet positively to continue.
Subsequently, Dreams FC settled down very well and had the game under their control which eventually gave them the opener on the 29th minute through Gael Aholou who scored from a close range.
Finished 0-1 after half time for the Dawu-based side who returned from the break looking very cautious as they look to preserve their lead.
The host on the other hand, returned on a higher note in search for the equaliser but the travellers looked very resolute at the back making penetration very difficult.
Milo FC de Kankan finally got the equaliser on the 81st minute, a goal they have been hunting for since the start of the second half.
It finished 1-1 after full time, with the return encounter scheduled for next week in Accra.
