Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni Salihu has stated Asante Kotoko were lucky to have narrowly won this game and should get themselves ready for a much difficult encounter in the second leg in Abuja.

In the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round over the weekend, the Porcupine Warriors were engaged in a very exciting seven-goal thriller against the Harmony Boys which they ended up with a 4-3 win at the Ohene Gyan Stadium. 

Albert Amoah got a brace coupled with two other goals from Emmanuel Antwi and center-back Joseph Ablorh. 

On the part of Kwara United, Johnmark Atule scored a first half brace in the space of eleven minutes while Abdulraheem Shola also fired late to reduce the deficit. 

In a post-match presser, the experienced gaffer is very hopeful of qualification having said Kotoko were lucky and will never be able to stop them from feasting in the return encounter. 

“Our assumption is not what we met. They are a bit luckier today, that’s it. They are a bit luckier, but they are coming to meet us at home,” he said.

"To concede two Goals Is difficult for our team, but we suffered before we scored our hoals but we will pay them back In Nigeria. All I know is that Kotoko cannot stop us"

Kwara United will welcome Asante Kotoko in the second leg on Sunday, September 28, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
