Kwara United captain Kabiru Mohammed says his side are “ready physically and mentally” as they prepare to face Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Nigerian club who are based in Ilorin will travel to Accra for the first leg of the preliminary round, where they will meet the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“We know the match against Asante Kotoko won’t be easy because of the way they play and the home fans support, but we are ready physically and mentally for the game,” Mohammed said.

Kotoko, one of Africa’s most decorated clubs, will look to use their home advantage to establish control before the return leg in Nigeria.

For Kwara United, the tie represents both a stern test and a chance to measure themselves against one of the continent’s most experienced sides.
