Asante Kotoko captain, Samba Ndongani O’Neil feels very confident more than ever and says his teammates are also in the same mood and are all very ready for nothing but a win on Sunday against Nigerian side Kwara United in the first leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors had a good pre-season where they been working extra harder under the tutelage of seasoned coach Karim Zito and the performance against Kaizer Chiefs in the Toyota Cup definitely exhibits how ready the Reds are for the game.

The Porcupine Warriors started their season on a very blistering note having picked an important 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea last week — and that marked their first ever win over the Blues ar the Golden City Park.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Congolese guardsman said they are well-poised and prepared for the crunchy clash and are willing to play their hearts out for the win to make their supporters happy.

“My mentality, as you know, I am always ready, and it’s another opportunity for me to make things different," he told the club's media.

"We are confident, and we are training very hard for this opportunity, and we know most of us, it’s our first time to play in this kind of competition, so we have to go all out to make a name.

“When you play for a big club like Kotoko, you have to know that everything you do, they will expect you to win, so whether you play well or badly, you have to win.

“So the pressure will always be there, so we always need to win to make them happy, so that’s all," he added.

The game is slated for Sunday, September 21, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
