The Black Starlets forward is on cloud nine after finding the net twice as Ghana defeated Ivory Coast in the opening match of the WAFU B U-17 Nations Cup.
Joseph Narbi was left grinning after his first-half brace helped Black Starlets secure a 5-1 triumph over Ivory Coast at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon on Wednesday night.
The Benab FC talented winger was at his best to hand Laryea Kingston their first win of the ongoing tournament.
“I am very happy to win this award. I am also happy that out of 22 players, I am the one who was selected for the best player award. I am grateful to the fans and my coaches for this award," Narbi said.
“The first half didn’t go as expected but the good thing is that we had an early goal. During the halftime break, the coach told us what to do, we did exactly that and we won the game” he added.
The Black Starlets will next face Benin at the WAFU B U17 Nations Cup tournament as they aim to snatch qualification to the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in seven years.
The last time Ghana's Black Starlets participated in the U-17 Nations Cup was 2017.
