President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed confidence in Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito’s ability to lead his side to victory against Wydad Athletic Club in the decisive return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup qualifier.
The Porcupine Warriors trail 1-0 on aggregate after falling to the Moroccan giants in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday. They now face a daunting task in Casablanca, where the second leg is set to kick off at 19:00 GMT tonight at the Stade Mohammed V.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Okraku backed Zito to rise to the occasion, insisting that Kotoko still have a fighting chance despite the narrow deficit.
“All is not lost after the first-leg result, but don’t discount what Karim Zito can do,” Okraku said.
The winner of the tie will advance to the group stage of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, where 16 teams will compete for continental glory.
