All attention will turn to North Africa on Friday as Al-Hilal Omdurman, Wydad AC, and Zamalek aim to book their places in the group stages of the CAF Inter-Club competitions.
In the CAF Champions League, Sudanese powerhouse Al-Hilal Omdurman head into their second-leg clash with Kenya Police FC holding a narrow 1-0 aggregate advantage. The match will be played at their temporary home, the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, due to security concerns in Sudan.
Elsewhere, in Ndola, Zambia, Power Dynamos will be looking to protect their 2-1 first-leg lead when they host Vipers SC of Uganda. A draw will be enough to send the Zambian side through to the next round.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, four decisive fixtures are scheduled for Friday — headlined by the clash between Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and Moroccan heavyweights Wydad AC.
Wydad, who triumphed 1-0 in Kumasi last week, will have home advantage at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, where they are firm favourites to secure progression to the group stage.
Egyptian giants Zamalek are also on the brink of qualification after thrashing Dekedda FC of Somalia 6-0 in the first leg. They will complete the job at the Cairo International Stadium, with little doubt over their advancement.
Meanwhile, Azam FC of Tanzania and CR Belouizdad of Algeria are also expected to progress comfortably as they enjoy home advantage against KMKM (Zanzibar) and Hafia FC (Guinea), respectively.
