The teenage defender of lvorian descent has penned his first official deal with the Blues given his promising talent as their academy product

English-born lvorian starlet Calvin Diakite has signed his first professional contract with Premier League heavyweights Chelsea Football Club, the club have announced.

The 17-year-old centre-back, who linked up with the Stamford Bridge campaigners at a very tender age, has progressed immensely throughout his developmental stages as a youth team graduate, with the West London club hierarchy now securing his future to a long-term contract.

An excerpt of a statement over the first professional contract of the lvorian prospect defender reads: ''Chelsea Football Club is pleased to announce that Academy defender Calvin Diakite has signed his first professional contract with the club following his 17th birthday.

''Diakite joined Chelsea as an Under-11 and has progressed through the Academy ranks at Cobham into a calm, commanding defender.

''After signing his scholarship ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, he established himself as a regular starter for the Under-18s, making consistent contributions to the team’s performances.

''The defender has made 22 Under-18 Premier League appearances so far this season, registering three assists in the league campaign, as the Blues currently sit top of the southern table.''

Given his lvorian heritage, the London-born teenager could become a future prospect for the Côte d'Ivoire national football team at the senior level after featuring for the England U15, U16 & U17 national youth teams.
