Ghanaian forward Jonathan Sowah is poised to leave Libya for Tanzania after Al Nasr Benghazi accepted a transfer offer from Singida Black Stars SC.
The deal, valued at USD $220,000, was confirmed today by African Football expert Micky Jnr. Personal terms have also been agreed, with Sowah joining a growing group of Ghanaian players at Singida Black Stars, including Ibrahim Imoro, Emmanuel Keyekeh, and Victorien Adebayor.
The transfer will be officially finalized once the Tanzanian transfer window opens in the second week of December.
Sowah, 25, was initially expected to stay at Al Nasr until December 31, 2025, after joining the club on January 27, 2024, for a reported fee of €200,000. During his time with Al Nasr, he scored three goals in seven CAF Champions League appearances, though the team was unable to win the title as Egypt's Al-Ahly claimed victory.
In the 2023-2024 season, Sowah also impressed in the Ghana Premier League, scoring four goals in eight appearances for Medeama SC. He played a pivotal role in Medeama’s 2022-2023 league title win, netting 12 goals and providing one assist in 20 league matches.
His standout performances earned him a call-up to the Black Stars for the 2023 AFCON under former head coach Chris Hughton, although Ghana was eliminated in the group stage.
