Head coach of Sudan's national team, Kwesi Appiah has expressed his desire for both Sudan and Ghana to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Currently, Appiah has guided the Falcons to one win and one loss in their opening two AFCON qualifiers, placing them in second place in Group F with three points.

In contrast, Ghana's Black Stars, led by coach Otto Addo, find themselves in third place with just one point following a 1-0 defeat to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger.

As the two teams prepare to face off in the upcoming qualifiers, Appiah shared his hopes for both nations to progress to the tournament.

"I hope both Ghana and Sudan qualify for the 2025 AFCON," Appiah said in an exclusive interview with Asempa FM. "We just have to pray and hope that we all achieve our goal."

The Black Stars will host Sudan in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT. The return leg is set to take place on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
