Ghana captain Thomas Partey has praised the electric atmosphere at the Baba Yara Stadium, describing it as "amazing" ahead of the Black Stars' 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying opener against Angola later today.
In an interview with SuperSport, Partey expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support from the Kumasi fans and urged them to show up in full force as the team aims to begin their Group F campaign with a victory.
“The supporters have been really amazing,” Partey said. “We’ve played most of our games here, and I believe we’ve won all of them. The fans have been fantastic.”
He added, “I really love playing here, but I hope they will continue with their support. If one day we play in Accra, I hope we’ll get the same fans.”
The Black Stars will take on Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, with the match scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT. Ghana is aiming for a strong start in their quest to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament.
