Black Maidens head coach Nana Adarkwa says his team is fully focused on winning their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Liberia.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium, Adarkwa said his players are ready and warned them not to be overconfident, even though the conditions are familiar.

"Since our arrival everything is ok but we are going to do our possible best. So far, so good our training session is very good. The girls are doing very well," he told GFA Communications.

"We hope going into the game we are going to win; nothing else. When you check Liberia and Ghana we are the same in terms of pitch, the weather, everything is okay here because if you go to Ghana it is the same. So we are playing like we are in Ghana, we are here for a win."

Adarkwa also highlighted the team’s tactical preparations.

"Since our training we have done a lot with the girls and hopefully we are going to win the game. We have made changes in the team. We know many can play in the team, so we make changes so that our game will be smooth. We want to win our matches. We are going for a win, no complacency," he added.

Kick-off for the game  is set for 4:00 pm on Saturday, and the Black Maidens will be aiming for a strong start in the qualifier.
