Madagascar head coach, Corentin da Silva Martins has acknowledged that his team must deliver a top-notch performance to stand any chance of getting a result against the Black Stars in Monday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Madagascar will take on Ghana's Black Stars at the Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in AI Hoceima, Morocco in a must-win Group I matchday 6 encounter on Monday, March 24 with Kick-off scheduled at 19:00 GMT.

After five games, Madagascar sit second of Group I with ten points, while Ghana, who picked up their fourth win in the qualifiers against Chad, are in first place with twelve points.

Speaking after Madagascar's first training session in Morocco on Sunday morning, Martins acknowledged the Black Stars’ quality and their determination to frustrate the West African giants.

"We're going to play our way. We're going to try to annoy them [Black Stars] as much as possible," Martins stated.

"Ghana has great players who play in major European leagues," but insisted that "in football, anything is possible.

"We have to play the same kind of game in order to stand a chance of winning points from Ghana."

Martins charged his players to grab the challenge and not be afraid of the occasion, underscoring readiness and preparation as major factors.

"This game is not decisive on Monday because there are four other games still to be played."
