The former Accra Lions transformative midfielder has sealed a sensational move to the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium outfit until the summer of 2027.
Tunisian top-flight league outfit Club Africain has announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed in the ongoing transfer window.
The 21-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Red and White lads on a free transfer after ending his stay at Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions.
Shawkan Mohammed, who was heavily linked with a move to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko after the 2023–24 season, finalized his switch to the Tunisian club after passing a mandatory medical examination this week.
The Accra Lions skipper has already turned down a two-year contract extension offer tabled by the club, which included a move to a club in Malaysia this summer.
The talented midfielder arrived at Accra Lions in 2021 from their partner club, Koowa Naso United FC, when he turned 18 for an undisclosed fee.
He made 68 appearances for Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League, scored one goal, and provided an assist.
Why Shawkan Mohammed will excel at Club Africain
The former Accra Lions captain was regarded as one of the highly-rated central midfielders in the Ghana Premier League following his explosive performances for the capital-based club.
His sterling output in the Ghanaian top-tier competitions, including the FA Cup, earned him a call-up to the Ghana U23 team, and he will add depth to the Club Africain team in the upcoming campaign.
Shawkan Mohammed is among the top arrivals at Club Africain in this transfer window with the aim of winning the Tunisian Ligue 1 title and returning to play in the CAF Champions League in the 2025–26 season.
