The evergreen budding star is currently living his dream on the international stage after making his appearance with The Canucks youth team in the European friendly youth competitions
Canadian-born Ghanaian wonderkid Jamil Abubakar has expressed his profound gratitude after featuring for the Canada U-17 men's national soccer team in the UEFA Friendship Cup 2026 held at Centre sportif de Colovray Nyon, Switzerland.
The 16-year-old talented attacking midfielder, currently on the books of French Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre AC U19, says wearing the north American national team badge is something he would never forget as that has been his dream since childhood.

Following his impressive outings against Brazil and Côte d’Ivoire in the juvenile championship, the former Vancouver Whitecaps FC budding prodigy took to his lnstagram Handle to express his excitement after donning the national colours of the Canadian Under-17 youth team.
He posted: ''A dream I’ve carried since I was a kid. To wear my country’s badge and represent Canada on the international stage is something I’ll never forget. Grateful for the opportunity, proud of the journey, and hungry for more.''

The ball-playing midfielder, who had an invite to the Ghana U17 national team during their preparatory games for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco, is still harbouring the dream of representing the Black Stars team at the international level should the opportunity avail itself someday.

When KICKGH.COM quizzed him as to whether he would still fancy playing for the Ghana national football team at the senior level in the near future, he quickly remarked: ''Of course, if they [Ghana Football Association] call me.''
