The hugely talented attacker is on the verge of sealing a loan switch to the one-time English Premier League title holders in this summer transfer window.

English Championship side Leicester City are in advanced talks to secure the signature of Ghanaian youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku on a loan from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP.

According to Portuguese tabloid Abola.pt, the Foxes have reached an agreement with Sporting CP to sign the former Ghana U20 star on a season-long loan deal with an option to purchase.

 

The reports in the Portuguese media also states that Leicester City will be paying around €15 million euros to Sporting CP at the end of the 2023/24 season to activate the option to buy clause and ten percent of Fatawu Issahaku's future sale.

 

The 19-year-old was excluded from Sporting CP's pre-season following coach Ruben Amorim's decision not to include the young winger in his plans for the season.

 

He arrived in Europe in 2022 from Ghanaian second-tier side Steadfast FC after Sporting CP paid €1.2 million to sign him on a five-year contract to ward off Premier League suitors like Liverpool and German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

 

However despite making six first-team appearance last season and made a cameo appearance in the nation’s final group game of the tournament against Uruguay.
