Ghana and Rayo Vallecano center-back Abdul Mumin is close to full recovery and will return into competitive action very soon, confirmed by his manager Iñigo Perez.

The 27-year-old has been on sidelines for almost a year now after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury last season when in La Liga action against Sevilla in March last year and hasn’t returned since.

Before the injury, Mumin was playing so well and was an undisputed starter at the Stade de Vallecas and had 2 goals and an assist as a center-back in 24 matches.

In a recent interview, Rayo Vallecano manager Iñigo Perez when queried on the return date of the Right to Dream Academy graduate, said he is getting better and will bounce back to compete action very soon.

He will hope to resume and pick up from where he left off with consistent football and playing time in order to make Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
