Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio are reportedly planning a move to sign Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana, according to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio. The Sardinian club is said to be preparing formal talks to explore a potential deal.

The 22-year-old midfielder is currently on the books of Atalanta but has been on loan at fellow Serie A side Bologna. Despite joining Bologna with the hope of securing regular playing time to further his development, Sulemana has struggled for minutes this season.

Across both Serie A and Coppa Italia, the Ghanaian international has only featured in four games, totaling just 112 minutes, leaving him frustrated and open to a move that would allow him to play consistently.

Cagliari, who previously had Sulemana on their books, could provide the playing time the midfielder seeks. The club currently sits 15th in the Serie A standings after Week 21 and are keen to reinforce their squad to strengthen their survival bid and avoid relegation at the end of the season.

Sources indicate that Cagliari plan to initiate discussions with Atalanta later this week in an effort to finalize a deal for Sulemana before the close of the winter transfer window, offering both the player and the club a potential win-win solution.
