Dutch club Ajax has reached a verbal agreement with Southampton to secure the services of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana on a loan deal with an option to buy, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
However, the deal is contingent on Ajax forward Steven Bergwijn finalizing his transfer to Saudi club Al-Ittihad, which would create space for Sulemana in the squad.
While the agreement between Ajax and Southampton is in place, the move is still pending as Sulemana and Ajax are negotiating personal terms.
The 22-year-old winger, currently recovering from an injury, has not yet featured for Southampton this season after their return to the English Premier League.
If the move is completed, Sulemana will become the eighth Ghanaian to play for Ajax, following in the footsteps of Mohammed Kudus, who was the last to represent the club during the 2022-23 season.
