The promising teenager has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the Swedish top-flight outfit, with the new deal set to expire in 2028

Ghanaian striker Jalal Abdulai has signed a four-year contract extension with Swedish Allsvanskan side lF Elfsborg, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old forward, who attracted attention from suitors this summer, has now been tied down to a long-term contract by the Borås Arena campaigners beyond this current season.

"IF Elfsborg is pleased to announce that together with Jalal Abdullai, they have agreed on a contract extension. The striker has signed a new deal that runs through the 2028 season," a statement over the extension deal read.

The talented teenager had this to say after extending his stay with his mother club: " I think this is absolutely the right place for me to be, where I can continue to play and develop in a good association. Everyone in the team and around the club has treated me well since I came here and I am very happy to continue playing here."

He continued by so far elaborating on his stint with the European outfit as a budding star: "It took a while to adapt, so it was a bit difficult for me at the beginning. But the coaching staff is good and we have a good relationship, and my teammates are both very good players and good people who have helped me a lot in my first year. The experienced players talk to me a lot. They know what is required and guide us young people forward."

"Since I came to IF Elfsborg, I have had the dream that we will play in Europe. That will be the case this year, and hopefully in the years to come. I want to help the team to be at the top of the Allsvenskan every year and for us to make it to the European Games regularly. The most important thing for me is always to win, I don't like to lose. If I can score goals and help the team, that's good, but regardless of goals or not, I want to help us win."

Club's manager Stefan Andreasson added his voice upon tying down the Ghana-prospect forward on a long-term contract: "During his first year with us, Jalal has shown tremendous talent and potential for the future. Therefore, it feels good to already be able to convey that we have extended his current contract until the 2028 season."

Abdulai is yet to earn his international cap with the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars.
