Huge boost for Ghana following the return of dependable defender Alexander Djiku yesterday, having stayed out of action for almost two months now.

The bulky defender returned on a higher note to power Fenerbahce to beat rivals Besiktas by 1-3 at the Tupras Stadyumu in an epic Istanbul derby last Saturday night.

Edin Dzeko broke the deadlock on the 10th minute, Oxlade Chamberlain levelled things up fourteen minutes later for the home team.

Dusan Tadic and Polish international Sebastian Szymański scored subsequently in the second half to seal the win and reclaim their top-spot.

Djiku made the starting line up despite being away for sometime now and enjoyed 84 minutes of action before making way for Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde. His compatriot Daniel Amartey lasted the entire duration of the game for the hosts.
