American-Ghanaian forward Patrick Agyemang produced a commanding display up front as Derby County secured a 2-0 victory over Swansea City, strengthening their push for promotion in the 2025/26 Championship.
Agyemang capped an impressive performance with Derby’s second goal in the 67th minute. The striker timed his run perfectly across the box to guide Callum Elder’s low cross into the far corner, effectively putting the game beyond Swansea’s reach. Earlier, Rhian Brewster had broken the deadlock just after half-time.
Agyemang dominated the attacking phase for Derby. Constantly stretching Swansea’s defense, he was the most fouled player on the pitch, brought down five times as defenders struggled to cope with his direct running. He also won a match-high 11 duels, providing an outlet to relieve pressure and ignite Derby’s counter-attacks whenever they played forward quickly.
Behind him, Derby’s back four held firm, with goalkeeper Josh Vickers ensuring Swansea’s 72% possession did not result in goals.
The victory marks another milestone for Agyemang, who now has 10 goals and 3 assists in 28 appearances this season.
Derby County will aim to continue their strong form when they travel to face Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday, February 21.
