Antoine Semenyo has shared his thoughts after winning his first career trophy with Manchester City following their 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final over the weekend at the Wembley Stadium.

The 26-year-old forward featured and lasted the entire duration as City secured the victory, with Nico O’Reilly scoring twice in the second half in the space of four minutes to seal the win.

Semenyo played three games and scored once in the competition despite joining at the semi-final stage. He has also been impressive this season, registering six goals and one assist for City, and 17 goals with five assists in 37 matches in all competitions.

Speaking after the game, Semenyo believes the win can help the team going forward. “I think it gives us a boost and confidence coming back from the international break and hopefully catching up.

“We don’t want to say too much because momentum can swing quickly so we just have to do our job and hopefully finish off the job potentially. We’ve got top quality players, we create a lot of chances and we’ve got good goalscorers, so it can change very quickly,” he added.

He is now expected to arrive in Ghana from henceforth to join the Black Stars for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
