Ghana centre-forward Antoine Semenyo has said he aspires to be like Erling Haaland, a Norwegian and Manchester City talismanic striker
The AFC Bournemouth attacker made the revelation during the club's pre-season tour in USA that he wants to emulate the former Broussia Dortmund star, who is currently regarded as the best striker in world football.
Haaland has been an instant performer in the English Premier League since arriving at Manchester City from Dortmund and has scored 63 goals across all competitions in two seasons.
Semenyo, who has also been an influential for AFC Bournemouth since last season is aiming to be emulate Haaland’s goal scoring prowess.
“That man (Haaland) is tall…strong, fast, he can finish. He’s got everything you need as a striker,” Semenyo is quoted saying by Earn Your Stripes
“The aura he has…if he’s on the pitch and if you don’t mark him…he’s gonna score.
“Everyone’s trying to mark him and even if you mark him, he still scores. I remember watching him…this is the kind of striker I want to be.”
Semenyo has scored two goals in 21 appearances for the senior national team of Ghana.
