Cypriot football giants APOEL Nicosia have successfully signed Ghanaian talent Charles Yaw Appiah during the current transfer window.
The 18-year-old midfielder joins from Ghana's lower-tier club Cheetah FC, where he has shown significant promise. Appiah has signed a three-year contract with APOEL, committing him to the club until the summer of 2027.
Initially, Appiah will join APOEL's second team to continue his development before being considered for the senior squad.
Known for his impressive dribbling skills, Appiah has often been compared to the legendary Lionel Messi. His standout performances for Cheetah FC in Ghana's Division Two League have paved the way for this exciting move to Cyprus.
Last year, Appiah traveled to Europe for training assessments, making his current transfer a well-anticipated step in his career. The left-footed player, capable of playing as a right winger or attacking midfielder, is expected to reach significant milestones in his professional journey.
