In a transfer twist few saw coming, Ararat-Armenia have pulled off a bold move by sealing the signature of experienced Ghanaian striker Paul Ayongo, Kickgh.com can confirm.



The 28-year-old attacking general, who has built a reputation for his composure, and attacking engine, joins the Armenian Premier League side from Liga Portugal 2 club G.D. Chaves where he made 25 appearances, scored 3 goals, and managed 2 assists last season.



Ayongo, who has had stints in Portugal, Australia, and Luxembourg, brings a wealth of European experience and a touch of Ghanaian grit to the Ararat midfield, as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of next season’s European qualification campaign.



The Accra born goal sniffer—who is a former player of Accra based Division Two side Charity Stars opted to join Ararat-Armenia due to their ambitious project that promised regular minutes and continental football.



Ayongo is seen as a late bloomer, and many believe this move could spark a renaissance in his career.
