The 21-year-old midfield enforcer of Ghanaian descent is itching to make his first start with the De Boeren against the Purple and White in the Belgian top-flight this coming weekend

Ghanaian and Zulte Waregem midfielder Dirk Asare has declared his readiness to play against league rivals Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday.

With the suspension of first choice defensive midfielder Enrique Lofolomo, the promising enforcer is now in a strong contention to make the starting line-up against the Lotto Park campaigners at home this coming weekend.

After coming on as a substitute against Sint-Truidense VV last Sunday, the former KV Mechelen U18 star is now oozing with confidence that he is more than prepared to face their opponent given his determination to contribute immensely when handed the opportunity to be in the starting XI for the encounter.

Speaking in an interview ahead of the clash, the Ghana-prospect midfielder has told Belgian tabloid Het Laatste Nieuws: ''The project immediately appealed to me.The initial intention was to loan me out for another six months, but with Nnadi's departure to Marseille, I immediately joined the squad.''

He added: ''If I get my chance, I'll try to contribute. In football, anything is possible. I feel ready to play a role, including against Anderlecht. The atmosphere in the stadium surprised me at the last home game."

Before sealing his transfer switch from Lierse SK to Zulte Waregem this January, Asare took in 23 appearances across all competitions in this current campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Mol-born native still remains eligible to switch nationality allegiance by playing for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Belgium U16, U18 & U19 national youth teams.
