The 22-year-old wideman of Ghanaian heritage, who is on loan at the German fourth-tier outfit, will play no part for the lowly division side for the remainder of the campaign owing to a knee injury setback

German-born Ghanaian winger Davis Asante is out for the rest of the current season after suffering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury during SV Rödinghausen clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach II over the weekend.

The on loan SSV Jahn Regensburg winger was introduced into the game on the 66th minute but only to be hobbled off on the  77th minute on the pitch after picking up the horrible injury during the encounter.

Manager Lars Fleischer was downhearted over the plight of the Ghanaian flanksman as he offered an update on his situation, telling his club's official website: ''Davis's absence is incredibly bitter. The severity of the injury is particularly tough for us, but of course also for the lad. We wish him all the best and hope he can return to the pitch as soon as possible.''

Before sustaining this latest injury setback, Asante featured in 17 appearances by netting 3 times and setting up another 3 across all competitions in this current campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Bremen-born native remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany U16 national youth team.
