Italian Serie B side Ascoli Calcio have announced the signing of Claud Adjapong on the transfer deadline day
Adjapong has signed a three-year deal with the Black and White lads after passing a scheduled medical examination on Thursday.
The 24-year-old arrives at the Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca from Italian Serie A outfit US Sassuolo for an undisclosed fee.
The club's official statement reads “Ascoli Calcio 1898 FC SpA announces that it has definitively acquired Claud Adjapong's sports performances from Sassuolo”
Adjapong was tipped for US Sassuolo right-back role after graduating from the club's youth side but injuries hampered his progression as a young footballer.
He managed to make 32 appearances for the US Sassuolo's first team, scoring two goals with an assist.
The Italian-born of Ghanaian descent was loaned out to Hellas Verona, US Lecce and spent last season at Reggia 1914 in the Serie B.
Adjapong has represented Italy at the youth level which makes him eligible to switch international allegiance to play for Ghana in future.
