Ghanaian international goalkeeper, Lawrence Ati Zigi has been named the Best Goalkeeper in Switzerland and was included in the Swiss Association of Football Players (SAFP) 'Golden 11' of the 2022/23 season following his consistent and stupendous display all season

FC Young Boys have been crowned champions with three matches to go, with solid 19 wins and amassed 68 points.

However, an incredible display throughout the campaign by the Black Stars goalie who made massive 101 saves in 30 appearances so far this season has earned him the league's best shot-stopper award.

He topped up with goals prevention of 5.3- the second highest in the league and was on third in terms save percentage with 75.3%.

His performance saw his side FC St Gallen finished 7th on the log with 40 points- not really among the best but Ati-Zigi proved he is above in terms of commanding the goal.

The year old earlier with 58 stops in 14 matches, was adjudged the league's best player of first round and also won the player of the month in November last year just a week prior to the 2022 World Cup.

Lawrence Ati Zigi is currently the Black Stars first-choice following his incredible heroics at the Mundial and has been manning the post since, having started in the last game Angola in a double header in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
