Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante says he is determined to keep scoring goals as he continues his impressive form in the early stages of the 2025–26 English Championship season.

The 26-year-old Black Stars striker has notched eight goals and three assists in 13 matches across all competitions for Coventry City, marking his best-ever start to a campaign. His latest heroics came in Coventry’s 2–1 away win over Portsmouth, where he bagged a brace to secure all three points.

The victory lifted Coventry to first place on the league table with 25 points, four ahead of second-placed Middlesbrough. The Sky Blues have registered seven wins and four draws from their opening 11 games, maintaining an unbeaten run that has made them early promotion contenders.

Following the match, Coventry manager Frank Lampard heaped praise on the Ghanaian international, commending his sharpness and consistency in front of goal.

Thomas-Asante, however, remains focused on improving his numbers.

“Not being 100% last season was really frustrating, especially when you can get out there but don’t feel as good as you want to,” he admitted.
“I just want to keep working because anything can happen tomorrow. You don’t want to rest on eight goals — for me, that’s gone, and I just want to keep going.”

Thomas-Asante will be looking to extend his scoring streak when Coventry City host Watford on Saturday, October 25, at 11:30 a.m.
