Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has praised Brandon Solomon Thomas-Asante for his exceptional form in the 2025–26 EFL Championship season, describing the Ghanaian forward’s performances as a reward for his relentless hard work and dedication.

Lampard’s comments came after Thomas-Asante netted both goals in Coventry City’s 2–1 victory over Portsmouth, a result that extended the Sky Blues’ unbeaten streak to 11 matches. The run includes seven wins, propelling Coventry to the top of the Championship table.

Thomas-Asante’s brace took his tally to eight goals and three assists in 13 matches across all competitions — a remarkable return for the former West Bromwich Albion striker, who continues to impress under Lampard’s leadership.

“Yeah, he is [on an extraordinary run] and it’s all credit to him because he works so hard,” Lampard told the club’s media.

“He’s got so much energy about him — you move him around and nothing changes. He’s effective in the 10, on the sides, up front… his pressing is great. You can see his talent, but what he’s doing now to maximize that talent is getting him big results — and getting us results.”

The England-born Ghanaian, who was part of the Black Stars squad that beat Comoros 1–0 to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has quickly become one of Coventry’s most important players this season.

Thomas-Asante will look to continue his impressive form when Coventry City return to action against Watford on Saturday, October 25.
