According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea is actively exploring options to reinforce their attacking midfield, aiming to fill the void left by the potential departures of Kai Havertz and Mason Mount.

Among the potential candidates, the Blues have shown interest in Ajax sensation Mohammed Kudus. The Ghanaian international has been in outstanding form in the Eredivisie and impressed with notable performances in the previous season's Champions League campaign.

Recently, Kudus has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, indicating his appeal to prominent Premier League clubs with the midfielder having a price tag around €50m.

Fabrizio Romano, in his CaughtOffside column, reported that Chelsea is nearing the sale of Havertz to Arsenal, while Mount is a target for Manchester United. Although squad trimming is necessary for Chelsea this summer, losing too many players simultaneously could pose a challenge, necessitating suitable replacements.

While the departures of peripheral squad members like Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, and Hakim Ziyech may not be deeply felt, the potential exits of Havertz and Mount could have a more significant impact. Consequently, there appears to be an opportunity for someone like Kudus to step in and contribute to Chelsea's midfield.
