Ghanaian striker Felix Afena-Gyan has openly acknowledges the difficulties he faced during his debut season with Cremonese in the Italian Serie A.

Following a successful debut season with AS Roma, where he clinched the Europa Conference League title, Afena-Gyan secured a transfer to Cremonese.

Despite the club's reported investment of 6 million euros in the talented attacker, he struggled to make a substantial impact, leaving fans disappointed.

In an interview with Sports Obama TV, Afena-Gyan candidly evaluated the challenges he encountered throughout the campaign.

"It was a very tough season for me because I couldn't meet my target," he admitted, his tone reflective.

"How I planned to fix it, I couldn't get it that way so yeah, it was a very tough one. "Everyone has his goals for the season and mine was to be part of the top scorers in the team, to get some number of goals but unfortunately, it couldn't happen that way so it was very tough for me"

Nevertheless, the 20-year-old striker considers this season a test of character and does not solely attribute his struggles to the transfer from AS Roma.

He added, "Well, I wouldn't say that (moving from Roma) though, but you know in life, things happen like this, so I guess it's one of them."

Throughout the past season, Afena-Gyan made 28 appearances across various competitions and managed to score two goals. Regrettably, his inconsistent form resulted in him missing out on a spot in Ghana's World Cup squad for the upcoming tournament in Qatar.
