English Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly interested in signing Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen in this summer transfer window.
The Blues have been busy strengthening in a number of areas over the summer, recruiting a number of players, including Axel Disasi, Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nknunku.
While they are keen to bring in a new striker before Friday's deadline, Chelsea are also considering whether to sign a new right-back.
Mauricio Pochettino's first-choice right-back Reece James has been plagued by injury issues over the past year and the Chelsea captain is currently sidelined with a hamstring problem.
While Malo Gusto has started the last two matches in James' absence, the Blues could turn to the transfer market to bolster the right side of their defence.

Frimpong has built a reputation at Leverkusen as a defender who likes to play on the front foot and contribute to his side's attacking play.
The former Manchester City starlet, who can also operate as a wing-back, has made a positive start to the new season, registering one goal and two assists in three competitive appearances.
In total, Frimpong has scored 13 goals and provided 21 assists in 98 games since joining Leverkusen from Celtic in June 2021.
