Ghana coach Chris Hughton on Thursday, November 9, 2023 announced a 25-man squad list for this month's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.
The list surprised Ghanaians with the inclusion of Serbia based midfielder Edmund Addo, who is yet to make an appearance for Red Star Belgrade since his arrival at the club.
Addo arrived at Red Star Belgrade from FK Spartak Subotica on a four-year deal worth €400,000 during the last summer transfer window.
However, since his acquisition the Ghana international has not been able to break into the first team of Red Star Belgrade.
Hughton also included TSG Hoffenhiem defender Kasim Nuhu Adams in the squad list for the all-important games against Madagascar and Comoros later this month in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Kasim Adams, who returned from a season-long loan spell at Swiss Super League side FC Basel, is also minute-less at the German Bundesliga side.
The combative centre-back is yet to make a match-day squad for TSG Hoffenhiem.
The Black Stars list includes returnees such as Andre Ayew, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jojo Wollacott, Osman Bukari, Denis Odoi and others who missed the October international friendlies against USA and Mexico.
Ghana will host Madagascar on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium before facing Comoros in Moroni on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
