The Romanian top-flight outfit have knocked back the advances of the Chinese elite division side over the services of the 29-year-old defender of Ghanaian parentage
Romanaian Liga l side Dinamo București have rejected the bid of Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan for the signature of Ghanaian-born Togolese defender Kennedy Boateng.
The former LASK centre-back, who joined Dinamo on a two-and-a-half-year deal in the summer of 2024, has so far lived up to his billings with the Romanian giants and he has now attracted serious attention from the Shandong-based club.
With his current contract set to expire on June 30, 2026, the Arena Națională campaigners now risk of losing him to suitors on a free transfer after failing to sanction his move to the Chinese outfit in a deal believed to be around €500,000 in this winter window.
Club president Andrei Nicolescu said of his side's reluctance to let go their dependable defender in this second half of the season by telling Digi Sport: ''The case is closed. There are discussions with the club, with the managers. There are insistences. Things have not calmed down. He wants 4 or 5 times more. There is fear regarding his evolution, but I am convinced that Mister can control it. I am convinced that regardless of the offers, he will remain a professional. As a professional, you cannot guarantee that you will continue to play the same (no if he is given as much as he wants and stays)."
ln this ongoing campaign, the former WAFA SC graduate has so far taken in 24 appearances for Dinamo across all contests this term.
He remains unfit to play for Ghana on the international stage having been cap-tied 14 times by the Togo senior national team in his international football career so far.
